As the last light of day relinquishes its hold on the moor the heath a darkening expanse of undulating shadow where the wild things of the land converge in secret their whispers stilled the wind a mournful sigh that stirs the grasses and the wildflowers of the heath and I a solitary figure stand at the edge

where the moor stretches out before me like a shroud and the sky above a deepening shade of indigo the stars beginning to prick the fabric of the night like diamonds scattered across the velvet expanse and I am lost in the vastness of this wild and lonely place
