Atomic Motions
after Lucretius
As particles collide and swerve in vacant space their trajectories unfolding like a labyrinthine path that winds and turns upon itself in endless convolution we find the hidden patterns of the universe revealed in the ceaseless motion of the atomic swarm where individual elements in constant interaction form and reform in an eternal cycle of creation and destruction, as the cosmos itself evolves through time and chance, an ever-changing tape becomes a mosaic of interconnected parts
In this grand ballet of matter and energy the laws of physics govern the movements of the whole from the spinning galaxies to the smallest subatomic particle all are bound together in a delicate balance where every action has a corresponding reaction and the harmony of the universe is maintained
I took from Lucretius his fascination with the natural world and the behavior of atoms, and applied it to a fresh instance of atomic motion, exploring the intricate web of relationships between individual elements and the cosmos. I aimed to capture his style of long, sinuous lines and formal diction.
